The ANNUAL Dragonboating Race is back!

This year SUAMS is BRINGING IT BACK!!

6 years from 2003-2008 SUAMS has been the reigning champion for this event. However in 2009, in a tragic twist of fate we lost our position as champion =( In 2010 we're GOING TO TAKE IT BACK!!

Dragon Boat Race 2010!!! is yet another splendid event jointly organised by the four Malaysian societies (MASA, MSO, MSA, SUAMS).

We are cordially inviting you to join us in our race against the Sydney river current under the ANZAC bridge.

Its a Sunday! so just take a few hours off to enjoy with your fellow SUAMS mates!
Just for this moment, forget about your assignments, quizzes, tests, etc, and come and have a lively and relaxing Sunday afternoon with us.
Prepare to get wet and chill out from your stressful end of semester life by having fun rowing the boat.

One boat consists of 18 rowers, a steerer, and a caller. That makes a total of 20 participants per boat.

Date: 2 May 2010 (Sunday)
Time: 2.00pm - 4.30pm
Venue: ANZAC Bridge Pier (Near fish market)
Cost: $5
( Due to strict NSW dragonboating laws, participants are required to
pay $10 for insurance. However, SUAMS has decided to subsidize
half for you !!!)

What to bring:
- Dress code: SUAMS shirt (or anything BLACK in colour)
- Lots of clothes to change (you will get wet regardless it is raining or not and please)
- Towel
- Sunscreens
- Closed shoes (preferably old smelly pair or Crocs)
- A huge appetite for all the free pizzas that’s going to be provided !!!
- Your enthusiasm!!!

We need your energetic power and spirits for this dragonboating competition with the other Malaysian societies!

Did we also mention that we are providing FREE LUNCH (PIZZA!!!) to members after the event since you will be starving by then. We shall be catering different flavoured pizzas straight to you, entirely FREE! As to meet special dietary requirements, this will not be an issue as vegetarian and Halal pizzas are provided.

Good news!!! It’s that time of the year to get healthy, active and competitive!
Some of you might already know that the Sports Carnival is an annual intervarsity competition between the Malaysian societies of various universities around New South Wales. This year’s participating universities include:

- USYD (SUAMS)

- UNSW (MSO)

- UTS (MASA)

- Macquarie Uni (MSA)

- Newcastle Uni (MYSUN - first debut)

The friendly rivalry between universities drives a competitive pride within each one of us, and each year, each team strives to win the grand title in each sport. Take part in one of the following sports and be a part of our winning team!!!

We select teams when training commences, so if you want to guarantee your spot in one (or two or three) of the teams, make sure you attend our trainings!
